Skills: Your entire agent fleet smarter, together

Introducing Skills
The AI world gave us models: processors that generate, analyze, follow user’s instructions.
We built the platform to let you build agents: operating systems that orchestrate those models, connect to your knowledge, take actions in your tools (think Notion, Salesforce, Slack… you name it).
Today, we're shipping Skills: capabilities that make your entire agent fleet smarter, together.
If you're running fleets of specialized agents across your organization, you've hit the scaling moment. The agents work. But expertise doesn't always spread as you'd like. Your sales ops specialist figured out the perfect way to structure HubSpot deals. The three agents they created use it. But the seven other one created by the Success and Marketing team don't. Someone improves a data query pattern. It stays in one agent while twenty others keep doing it the old way.
Skills solve this. Package instructions, knowledge, and tools once. Deploy across your agent fleet. Update once, improve everywhere.
What Skills are
A Skill packages three things:
- Instructions– The "how-to" for a specific task or domain
- Knowledge– The documents, data, context needed to execute well
- Tools– The connections to systems where work gets done
Package them once. Any agent in your workspace can use them. Update a skill, every agent using it improves instantly.
Think of it like the Matrix: Neo gets martial arts uploaded. "I know kung fu." Your agents get: "I know how to update our CRM." Same source. Same standards. Across your entire fleet of agents.
A new Builder's superpower
If you're a builder on Dust, you just became a force multiplier.
You're the sales ops specialist who knows exactly how HubSpot deals should be structured. You've figured out which custom fields matter, how stage history reveals ownership, the query patterns that actually work. Before Skills, you couldn’t propagate these capabilities to all agents that need it.
Now? Create a "Gather Deal Context" skill. Every sales agent uses it. You update it once. Fifty agents improve. You went from helper to multiplier.
As a member of the data team you want to empower everyone across the company to query the warehouse through agents. But without the right guardrails, humans and agents can interpret the data model differently: wrong joins, misunderstood fields, inconsistent results. Bad data interpretations erode trust fast.
Now? Build a "Warehouse Query" skill. Package the expertise. Share it. You enabled the entire company.
This is power, but it's also responsibility. You're setting standards. You're encoding tribal knowledge. You're building infrastructure that compounds as your organization learns.
Building your first Skill

Some quick examples of where you could start:
- CRM workflows– Deal entry, lead qualification, pipeline hygiene
- Data access patterns– How to query the warehouse correctly
- Compliance rules– Contract review, approval workflows, legal checks
- Brand standards– How to write in your company's voice, use approved templates
- Customer context– How to pull the right support tickets, usage data, conversation history
Each skill you build makes the next agent faster to ship and more consistent with the last fifty.
Last, but certainly not least, governance that scales
If you know Dust, you know we take great pride in our governance and security measures.
Skills respect the data permissions you created in Spaces automatically. If a skill needs access to your Product space and your Legal space, only agents with both permissions can use it.
The infrastructure moment
We've been building the Agent OS since day one. Connection to knowledge. Fleets of specialized agents. Governance that works at scale.
Skills are the next primitive. The one that lets your agents improve as fast as your teams learn.
Skills are available to workspace admins and builders starting today. Read the documentation to create your first skill.
