You don't need another AI platform in your stack. You need connection.
Most companies approach AI adoption the same way: take existing workflows, put an AI layer on top, and hope for efficiency gains. The results are predictable. Individual contributors get marginally faster. The organization stays exactly the same.
The real question is not "which model should we use?" It's how do you systematically embed AI into the way a company operates? That's a cultural problem as much as a technical one.

The wrong champions, the wrong metric

Open LinkedIn right now. You'll see a wave of posts about building complex agents, chaining tools, pushing the limits of the latest model release. It's compelling content. It's also misleading.

This is context switching, and it's the single biggest productivity drain in knowledge work. Not because each switch takes long, but because the cumulative cognitive cost compounds across every employee, every day.

  1. Use connections, not bulk indexing.
    Rather than replicating your entire SharePoint or Google Drive into a third-party system, connect to source applications through tool integrations. The data stays where it is. Agents query it in real time with the user's own credentials.
  2. Inherit personal permissions from the source.
    If an employee doesn't have access to a folder in Google Drive, their agent shouldn't either. Permissions flow from the source application, not from a separate access control layer that needs to be maintained in parallel.
  3. Lead with three non-negotiable assurances: no data training, no data retention, and personal permission inheritance.
    When you can walk into a security review with those three commitments backed by SOC2 Type II certification, the conversation shifts from "convince me this is safe" to "let's scope the rollout."
